I hope you are healthy and happy!
I am sorry for the lack of information. Let’s just say that many things have not gone as anticipated.
The biggest news that you need to know is that I definitely can not be a “primary care” provider in my new setting. What does this mean? It means that I cannot be available every day of the week for all issues that may arise. It means that many of you will need to establish care with another provider who can be “home base” for you. It does not mean that you cannot see me. I can still help you with specific issues and provide the broader scope of care that most of you have become familiar with by now.
If you come to see me at my new practice, you should know that I do not have access to your medical records at Wellspring. We could start over from scratch, but if you recall my history form you will know why I hate to have you do that. You can sign a release of records form either at Wellspring or at my new location at Tukwila for me to get a copy of your Wellspring records.
I am working through the very arduous process of getting set up with the various insurance companies in my new practice. I’ll spare you the painful details, but I am working on continuing to be “signed up” with most of the same insurers I was signed up with at Wellspring. I expect most insurances will provide coverage for services provided now while we are getting my information updated. For the small number of insurances that I may not be “signed up” with, you can see me as an “out of network” provider.
Most of you are interested in better healthcare, so you may be interested to know what I am up to with the time I am not seeing patients. I am spending at least half of my time working to build better healthcare and Lifestyle Medicine in the national arena - primarily with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. A few of you also may know about the Institute that is my long term personal goal - to be the professional patient advocate in exploring better treatment options and getting them to those who need them.
If you would be interested in potentially receiving primary care in the future similar to what I provided at Wellspring, please click here for more information.
My new practice is called Northwest Lifestyle Medicine, Inc. You will find location and contact information on both the Welcome page and the Patients page of this website.
Wishing you fantastic health and every happiness,
Dr. Braman
